Rudolf 'Rudy' Rindfleisch

Rudy was born in Burlington, CT on August 12, 1936. He served in the US Army during a portion of the Korean Conflict. On July 19, 1958 he married the former Mary Swarthout and for the past 38 years they have made their home in Clyde. Mr. Rindfleisch was formerly Employed by the Hammond and Irving Co, of Auburn as an iron worker. He also farmed most of his life and raised Polled Herefords. Rudy was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Waterloo, a member of the American Legion Post # 227 of Lyons, and a member of the Falcon Sportsmen Club in Auburn. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. Rudy served as Past President of the George Ellwanger Unit 53 Steuben Society in Rochester. He supported The Veterans of Foreign Wars on a national level, and served locally on the board of Directors of the Wayne County Legal Aid Society, he was a past board member of the Wayne County Self-Help Development.

This is the image of Rudy that will always remain with me. He took a couple of carloads of the family on a trek between the lakes to the graveyards. I will always remember the thrill it was to see the gravestones of my ancestors. I was grateful to have a guy that knew the area and the family history to find things for us. He will be missed.
